What to Expect
Discover world-famous paintings, sculptures, and tapestries with this timed entry ticket to the Accademia Gallery in Florence. See iconic pieces by Michelangelo like ‘the Prisoners’, ‘St. Matthew’ and the statue of David. View works by other famous masters like Bartolini.
Admire the 5.17-meter marble statue representing the Biblical hero David, a favored subject in Florentine art. The statue soon came to symbolize the defence of civil liberties embodied in the Republic of Florence, an independent city-state threatened on all sides by more powerful rival states and by the hegemony of the Medici family.
In the adjacent rooms, which were part of two former convents, important works of art are collected here from the Academy of Design, the Academy of Fine Arts and from suppressed convents.
Recently the Gallery has been further enriched by the important collection of old musical instruments from the Cherubini Conservatory, the Department of Musical Instruments.

Highly recommend to skip the line other wise you go on your own & want to wait on hugeee long lines thats exactly what willl happen. I know it says 15 min to see micheal but i was able to see the whole museum and the statue for over an hour back and forth.
So worth taking your time to see all the pieces and observing the statue at all angles its truly a sigh to see.

Truly amazing! Loved this museum and all the sculptures but casually walking past this masterpiece is surreal. If you are in Florence definitely try not to miss this opportunity.

Le musée ayant une organisation qui lui est propre, notre guide Marie a été indispensable. Les explications sont nécessaires pour profiter et comprendre de ce musée au maximum. Marie a su nous faire découvrir les pièces maîtresses en ayant toujours une excellente vue sur les œuvres sans être dérangés par le monde. Marie nous a donné des explications que nous ne connaissions pas sur la structure des tableaux en tenant compte du contexte de création à l’appuie d’une tablette. La visite était bien préparée et argumentée. Notre fils de 19 ans a appris beaucoup de choses. Nous n’avons pas vu le temps passé.
