Overview
Take a guided in-depth tour of the two most important museums in Egypt. Visit the Egyptian Museum and National Museum of Egyptian Civilization with an Egyptologist as your guide.
Start with pickup at your hotel by minivan and first visit the Egyptian Museum, also known as the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities, where your guide will show you the highlights of the incredible collection of artifacts. Discover over 250,000 genuine artifacts, including the treasures of Tutankhamen.
After taking a break for lunch in a local restaurant at your own expense, continue to the next stop, the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization. Enjoy a guided tour where you will learn more about Egyptian civilizations from prehistoric times right up until the present day.
Walk through the Royal Mummies Hall, and see the gold coffins and remains of pharaohs of the past. Discover more about famous rulers like King Ramses II and Queen Hatshepsut. At the end of the tour, you’ll be transferred back to your hotel.

the museum’s layout is confusing; it’s huge with thousands of antiquities & most aren’t labeled. My guide, alex
was knowledgeable & very good at choosing the most important objects to view. He was also very knowledgeable about history & provenance.
After spending almost 90 minutes w him, I spent another 90 on my own. I wouldn’t have gotten as muc out of this visit without his help. The NMEC can easily be seen without a guide, but it was great to have transportation there & back. Hany did explain the layout at NMEC & pointed out points of interest on the way & back.

It was an incredible experience, since they picked us up at the Hotel we felt that it would be a wonderful day and it was. Our super attentive, helpful guide with great energy, his knowledge of everything we visited were outstanding. A tour that they cannot stop doing when they come to Egypt, 1000% highly recommended. Punctuality,
transportation, explanation of every detail and a lot of charisma from our Guide.
Both museums are worth visiting.
You’ll find Tutanchamon and a lot of other nice things in the Egyptian museum, but you’ll find the really impressive Mummie hall in the other museum, so combining it is worth your time.
